If tomorrow never comes

When I look at this imagine it fills me with hope. It’s powerful yet calming. It reminds me to acknowledge all the things I accomplished today, hope for tomorrow and the new adventures it may bring . It reminds me to rest –  my mind and my heart. Most importantly, it reminds me of the greatest artist: our creator. How perfect is His creation and how blessed are we to get to live such beauty?

Tomorrow is not promised to any of us right? Accidents and tragedies happen, we may get sick and die. But what are we doing to show our gratitude for the life we have today? Do we take time to love the ones we’d be completely broken over if we lost them? Are we really living or just existing?

Most of us are obligated to work each day.  My suggestion is to make the best of it.  Why not enjoy what you have to spend time doing? Even if it’s not pleasant do something to make it enjoyable – listening to music uplifts my mood.  Some of us have more free time to use leisurely.  What are you doing with those precious moments?  Please don’t waste it doing nothing, unless of course you’re blissfully content with doing nothing.  If not, use that time to learn something new, to help another in need, to finish that long put-off project…

I plan to take several trips, visit family and friends, learn to sew a button, read nightly, continue to write, continue to develop.

If tomorrow never comes, I want my today to count.  I want today to be the best day I lived.

With that I leave you the song by Garth Brooks, I think it sums up a lot:

Sometimes late at night
I lie awake and watch her sleeping
She’s lost in peaceful dreams
So I turn out the lights and lay there in the dark
And the thought crosses my mind
If I never wake up in the morning
Would she ever doubt the way I feel
About her in my heart
If tomorrow never comes
Will she know how much I loved her
Did I try in every way to show her every day
That she’s my only one
And if my time on earth were through
And she must face this world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past
Gonna be enough to last
If tomorrow never comes
‘Cause I’ve lost loved ones in my life
Who never knew how much I loved them
Now I live with the regret
That my true feelings for them never were revealed
So I made a promise to myself
To say
‘Cause I’ve lost loved ones in my life
Who never knew how much I loved them
Now I live with the regret
That my true feelings for them never were revealed
So I made a promise to myself
To say each day how much she means to me
And avoid that circumstance
Where there’s no second chance to tell her how I feel
If tomorrow never comes
Will she know how much I loved her
Did I try in every way to show her every day
That she’s my only one
And if my time on earth were through
And she must face this world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past
Gonna be enough to last
If tomorrow never comes
So tell that someone that you love
Just what you’re thinking of
If tomorrow never comes

Goals

“Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible.”

Have you ever felt you were running out of time? Have you felt a sense of urgency to get something done? How do you reign in the galloping horses in your mind and get to setting a plan to achieve your goal?

I have many thoughts and ideas but find it hard to concentrate on one thing. I work on this a little bit, that a little bit… but this isn’t always productive because it takes a long time to fully accomplish one thing.  So I think what I will focus on doing now is setting goals and creating timelines of when I want to accomplish a task.  I’ve been told for years the importance of setting goals; in my mind I set things I want to accomplish but rarely have I put them down in writing: to make it real, concrete.

For example, I want to publish a book. I haven’t decided if it will be a children’s book, a fictional novel, a first person documentary, etc. What I’ve been doing wrong is playing out stories in my mind but not putting them in writing, or starting on one story but not working it all the way through.  So what I’m determined to do is create a writing schedule and make time to complete a book.  This I know will make me happy.

What are some of your goals? What steps will you take to reach your goal?  Where will you look for inspiration?

Stay Focused!
